This historic 2-storey hotel obtained its first liquor licence in the gold rush days of 1872. Known then as the "Golconda Hotel," in 1975 it became known as the "Golconda Tavern." In 1998 the hotel was renamed the "Admirals Arms Hotel."

The hotel is situated in the coastal town of Coromandel, North Island, New Zealand. Coromandel Town is well known for its sea fishing excursions, artists and the famous Driving Creek Pottery Railway.
